Hello! I'm Kevin and I'd like to tell you a little bit about myself.

I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a major in Forestry & Natural Resource Management, and two minors in Biology and in Indigenous Studies. I chose Forestry because I love trees, Natural Resources because we have nothing without them, Biology because it's how life works, and Indigenous Studies because people are the problem and the solution. I believe that the respectful and ethical stewardship of our planet's natural resources will play a big part in resolving much of today’s environmental crisis.

Business has an outsized impact on people and the world. With this understanding, I began searching for careers and roles aligned with how I wanted the world shaped. Startups allowed me to test my ability to learn, grow and contribute meaningfully to an organization’s value stream from resource to customer. My work with the Openfarm/Farmbot team gave me exposure to the complexities of managing business systems that integrate hardware, software and peopleware to enable the everyday person to grow food more easily. This translated well into my next venture with the super probiotic coconut yogurt company The Coconut Cult.

At the Coconut Cult, we wanted to build a company to feed people living medicine. As a partner, I came onboard to help build the online sales and fulfillment channel, which quickly snowballed into a variety of other mission critical roles. If you can ship highly perishable and fragile products alongside managing a logistics team to outbound those goods, then you can also manage a variety of inbounding tasks. If you can keep good records of your supply chain activities then you can negotiate better rates, find consolidation opportunities, and manage food safety related compliance requirements. With a finger on the pulse of the business, I became responsible for production planning, inventory management, procurement, organic certification and all supply chain related preventative controls for our food safety / HACCP plan. I was responsible for managing funds in the hundreds of thousands of dollars per quarter. Weekly stakeholder meetings between finance and operation teams allowed us to keep prudent controls on waste and spending. All businesses have constraints to manage and after successful fundraising was secured, the company was in a good position to bring onboard seasoned corporate leadership and address those constraints. The business is on track to outcompete every non-dairy yogurt in the natural channel on a dollar basis and I am very proud of what our team has been able to achieve 😊 🌴 🦩

Thanks for taking the time to learn about me. If you have any questions or would like to get in touch, my email address can be found below. All the best,

We abuse land because we see it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect
